CorningWare French White 7-oz Ramekin, Set of 4, French White, Boxed
Amazon.com Review
Most of us have become masters of multitasking–answering phones, checking e-mail, and reading simultaneously, and Corningware follows suit with dishes designed for the microwave, oven, tabletop, dishwasher, and refrigerator. Corningware’s French White bakeware combines the functionality of classic designs with contemporary styling. This set of four 7-ounce ramekins is ideal for fruit dishes, puddings, or hors devoirs, allowing you to cook in the same dishes you serve with (as with all Corningware and other ceramic or glass bakeware, you’ll always need to use potholders when handling the dish). When you’re done, you can stick the leftovers in the fridge or the empty ramekins in the dishwasher. The set boasts an impressive 10-year warranty. –Ariel Meadow Stallings

Product Description
This colorful, high-carbon stainless steel santoku knife has a high-tech resin handle, detailed with miniature cutouts that depict common food objects like carrots and mushrooms. As you might guess, this knife is intended for fruits and vegetables, helping to prevent any possible transfer of bacteria from one food group to another. To complete this set, other knives in this collection are sold separately. An innovative approach in cutlery, this santoku knife has a special fluorinated-resin green coating that won’t rub off when following these cleaning recommendations: handwash in warm, soapy water then completely dry by hand - never use a steel scouring brush or cleanser.
Amazon.com Review
Measuring 6-1/2 inches in length, the straight-edged blade of Komachi’s santoku knife comfortably chops, dices, and slices produce of any variety. Slice fresh pineapple and melons, shred cabbage, or julienne carrots for your favorite stir fry. The knife hides a whimsical, fish-shaped cutout beneath its handle.
This unique collection–by renowned blade manufacturer KAI in Seki City, Japan–offers practical kitchen cutlery in cheerful colors. Durable, high-carbon, stainless-steel blades featuring a fluorinated-resin coating offer hygienic food handling. The lightweight knife does not have a bolster but feels balanced thanks to the full tang. Clear, Ionomer-resin handles in coordinating hues are ergonomically designed and fit comfortably in hand. Made in Japan and measuring 11-1/4 by 2 by 3/4 inches overall, this vegetable knife is dishwasher-safe but hand washing is recommended. – Amy Arnold

Amazon.com Review
The 4-inch fine-edged blade on this knife features slightly curved surfaces on both the back and the cutting edge, terminating in a sharp point. The pronounced tip makes this a great choice for peeling and cutting fruits and vegetables and preparing meats. The blade is strong and firm; this is one of the most versatile knives around and a must for the kitchen of any would-be chef.
Part of the popular Four Star series, this hand-honed blade is made with Henckels’ Sintermetal Component Technology (SCT), which allows three different grades of steel to be combined to form a single piece, fusing together the blade, bolster, and tang. What does this mean in layman’s terms? It means a strong, high-quality knife that will last a lifetime.
Founded in 1731, the J.A. Henckels company is not only one of the world’s oldest cutlery manufacturers, it’s also one of the most well respected, creating best-selling knives guaranteed to last a lifetime. –Kim Harwell

Features
Product Description
Originally from Japan, this knife is quickly finding a following among American chefs. The curvature of the cutting edge offers great opportunity for rocking the blade while slicing and dicing. An excellent choice for cutting vegetables and meats into slices or cubes. This blade can cut paper thin slices, a great benefit to those who adore sushi and sashimi and the hollows within the blade keep food from sticking to it.
Amazon.com Review
Tough polypropylene handles with full, visible tangs and the traditional three rivets distinguish Classic knives from Wüsthof’s other cutlery lines. Otherwise Classic knives are identical to other Wüsthof knives, embodying all the virtues that have earned the German manufacturer world renown. The principal parts of a Wüsthof knife–blade, bolster, and tang–are forged from a single piece of high-carbon stainless steel, and the blade is precisely tapered from bolster to tip and from back to hand-honed edge. The blades and beautifully formed bolsters are not as thick as on some knives. As a result, despite their heft, strength, and durability, Wüsthof knives are pleasingly delicate and marvelously balanced in action.
This 7-inch santoku is a Japanese cook’s (or chef’s) knife, featuring a low-tip style with a broad blade. The cutting edge is minimally curved, so it provides less rocking action than a European-style cook’s knife. For straight-down slicing and precise chopping, however, it’s superb. Alternating hollows on each side of the blade create air pockets, allowing slices to fall away cleanly. This knife should be hand washed. –Fred Brack

Friodur Stainless Steel Blades, NOVODUR Handles / Wood Presentation Gift Box
Amazon.com Review
From one of Henckels’ moderately priced cutlery lines, these eight steak knives divide any rib eye, chop, or roast into bite-size pieces and then store in a handsome wood box. The thin, curved blades are perfect for precise cutting, although their fine serrations tend to tear meat fibers rather than slice neatly through them. Stamped from high-carbon stainless steel, the knives are lighter in weight than forged knives and don’t have bolsters, which might not be essential when confronting a thick prime rib. The synthetic handles feature classic three-rivet styling with full tangs for strength. The storage box is stained a rich auburn. It has brass hinges and snap closures and measures 15-1/4 inches long, 1-3/4 inches high, and 5-5/8 inches wide. The knives are dishwasher-safe and carry a lifetime warranty against defects. –Fred Brack
