I purchased this mixer from Amazon.com in March of 2008, and after mixing a few batches of cookie dough, the beaters are clicking and wobbly. Although it’s nice having the 9 speeds (easy to turn up the speed or turn the mixer off), the beater problem is simply poor quality and I expected better from KitchenAid. I’ve always loved my KitchenAid 6-qt. mixer, so when I noticed this 9-Speed Hand Mixer, I didn’t hesitate to purchase it. I’m afraid I wouldn’t recommend it — for the same money or less, there are much better mixers available (read the excellent reviews for the Oster products).

I haven’t used the mixer but two times since I purchased it but am completely satisfied. I can’t belief how quiet it is compared to my old one. It mixes thoroughly. This is the best hand mixer ever! I am very limited on counter and storage space in my kitchen, and this is perfect little appliance that can be stored just about anywhere. I had been using a Kitchen Aid hand mixer, but it was only a 5-speed. Just didn’t seem to have enough power for cookie dough, whipping potatoes, etc. Initially I had considered buying an Artisan Stand Mixer, but with the kind of cooking/baking that I do, a 9-speed hand mixer does the trick! I bought this coffee maker based on my percieved ease of use. My friend bought one last year. I wish I had watched him clean it up. I was trying to avoid cleaning a narrow neck carafe. What I like and don’t like…

Pros:

1. Makes good coffee

2. Easy to clean the coffee “bucket” carafe.

3. No glass or narrow neck carafe cleanup required.

4. Auto off

5. I like the way it looks.

Cons:

1. It uses about 25% more coffee, for the same amount of water in my old Braun auto drip. The Braun coffee basket is cone shaped and perhaps this concentrates the coffee?

2. Placement of the water level gauge, rear, right handside corner, limits counter choices.

3. The top lid is hard to clean. The heated hot water is fed through this lid and drips over the coffee basket. Coffee residue naturally builds up on this lid, as in other auto drip units. The lid uses a multi-hole pattern, like a flat shower head. The coffee residue builds up between the holes.

We bought this coffee maker in June, 2006. I was so excited about the lack of a carafe and for several months, this coffee maker exceeded my expectations…until it quit working. Some days it worked, some days it didn’t. Some days it took 2 hours to start a brew, some days it never started.

I called Cuisinart support, who told me to use a vinegar/water solution because my problem was a clogged hole due to mineral build up. We went through a gallon of vinegar. It didn’t help.

They’ve not responded to me and we finally just went out and got a Mr. Coffee coffee maker for half the price because I can’t go without my coffee. Buyer beware, this model has major issues that Cuisinart won’t address.

I love it - coffee stays hot, no pot to drip onto the counter, easy to refill my cup, area to fill water is small but I had no problem with a regular measuring cup. Only issue is we can’t fit our travel mugs under the spout but we just dispense coffee into a pyrex first on the days we take the coffee with us. A 14oz disposable travel cup will fit. I’ve owned too many coffee makers and this one so far is a winner.

While this makes good coffee, it has Leaked From Day One. At first I thought I was just pouring in the water wrong. But, no. It leaks.

I thought about returning it but it would be too much of a hassle to box it up, drive to UPS, wait in line, drive home, etc. My time is worth something. It is very stylish too I think. If you don’t mind the water everywhere.

I have read some of the reviews and wonder what ever happened to the quality Revere used to employ? What is the problem with the lids?

I’ve had this same set for over 20 years and they are still in great shape although I have lost a lid, and they are used often.

The only reason it doesn’t get my 5th star is that they didn’t have that rubber bottom the new Oxo brand bowls have. But other than that, there are no complaints.

mixer worked great for several years, then someone put bread dough in it. now the gearbox is completely shot: the plastic casing cracked, allowing the gears to misalign, ripping some of the teeth off of one of the gears and cracking one of the bushings. great mixer, just not for anything thicker than cookie dough.

This pot rack is such a great buy, we bought two. Since we had to hang the racks using toggle bolts (and you probably will, too, given the difficulty/luck involved in lining up with a stud in the exact place you wish to install it), we took the advice of a previous poster and replaced the silver chain with black and bought white swag hooks at HD (they don’t carry black ones) and sprayed them black. Total cost for the materials was $10 per rack and it looks much nicer. Couldn’t be more pleased with this product. Use of a vertical laser level will make installation a lot easier than trying to use the plumb bob recommended in the manual. It’s a shame the manufacturer doesn’t include a template; then you’d only have to find one hole.

I’ve been using woks made of cast iron, aluminums, Teflon-coated materials etc. Learned about some of those materials can react with food and formulate chemical reactions, or the synthetic coating can break down sooner or later. Realized while the family was happily gobbling the foods down, also took along those chemical elements into our bodies. Then I found Cuisinart 14″ stainless steel wok when I shopped around for an idea wok. I’ve had this wok for over a month now. I’m practically impressed. It transfers heat very well, gives adequate heat to do crisp stir fry vegetable dishes. The 14″ diameter gives plenty of space to cook for 4 people. I especially like how easy it is to clean. I can scrub it as hard as I want to with soapy water, and don’t worry about take the synthetic coat off or the wok will become rusty later on.

I have had my knife for 3 years, I have the pink meat knife that I love not quite as much and bought the purple knife today. I would love to purchase myself a $300 knife seriously, but this is by far the best knife I have ever had. It makes chopping and dicing veggies a breeze and I love it. And for $20 replace it, in 3 years it has dulled a bit, but never been sharpened. Fabulous.

I had high hopes for this knife since all my previous knives were cheap. However, it didn’t deliver. It is good for slicing things like potatoes or onions, but if a vegetable has a skin, such as a tomato or bell pepper, it does not cut through the skin very well. I ended up getting another knife, and I only use this one on occasion.

I cannot recommend these knives enough. My favorites are this veg knife and the tomato/cheese knife. These are infinitely better than the expensive knives sold at specialty stores. I’m actually just seeing what others think of a knife my dad bought me because we have a love of good knives and we love to cook. I have fallen in love with this knife because its precision is amazing. I can shave garlic, dice anything, with such accuracy that the work is really gone from the situation. I do sharpen it occassionally as I do with all my knives. I also do not have the complaint about speed that some other posters have — only because I find that I am not slowed down and I’m not doing things in great bulks. I used to cater and I feel like this knife is a must have for vegetables. I’ve had it a year, so I can attest to its durability–and I cook almost all meals in a week. I bought this for my girlfriend because cyan is her favorite color, and it’s extremely lightweight and easy to handle. The blade is plenty sharp for most general uses, but I would only recommend this to casual cooks who want a cute, sharp knife at a reasonable price. If you’re serious about cooking, forget about this one.

I haven’t sharpened it yet, though I have honed it on a steel occassionally. The knife hasn’t seen a whole lot of use yet, so I’m not sure how it will stand up to heavy use.

The knife itself gets 2 stars, and the price adds 2 more.

The other knives in this series are cute and fun, but I haven’t tried any of them. The set as a whole seems like it might be a great way to encourage teenagers to take up cooking.

I wish that I had purchased this nice ironing board years ago. It is sturdy, doesn’t wobble, well made and worth the purchase price. I purchased this ironing board from www.amazon.com and was so pleased with the efficiency and swiftness of the delivery. If you do a lot of ironing, I do recommend this product. It is nice, however, if you have a place where you can leave it up and not have to take it up and down. But a lighter weight ironing board is not going to perform like this one does. The surface is larger than some which makes ironing a garment a little quicker as you can cover a larger area at the time.

My wife asked me to find a replacement for our 20+ year old ironing board. I read reviews and purchased the Rowenta. She’s very pleased with it. I made the mistake of purchasing cover separately……..the ironing board comes with the nice cover/pad.
