Amazon.com Review

Professional chefs have long sung the praises of the KitchenAid stand mixer. Now, KitchenAid has designed a product specifically for the home baker with this nine-speed hand mixer. Its digital display shows the selected speed, providing precision control, while an electronic sensor works with the powerful yet lightweight motor to maintain that speed in any mixture, heavy to light. Designed with nonclogging air vents, the mixer is easy to clean because smooth, sleek surfaces have no seams or grooves that trap ingredients. The mixer comes with traditional beaters, a pro whisk attachment for fluffier mixes, and a one-year warranty. –Linda Dahlstrom

Customer reviews

Sound is very quiet. by .. Meg ()
I think the weight is also light and the sound is also very quiet.

It isn’t used for cooking yet, but I feel powerful.

Though it wasn’t also expensive like the price, I was happy because there was also a whisk by which I thought it was separate sale.

Somewhat disappointed with quality of this mixer! by .. J. Ehrbar (St. Petersburg, FL USA)
I purchased this mixer from Amazon.com in March of 2008, and after mixing a few batches of cookie dough, the beaters are clicking and wobbly. Although it’s nice having the 9 speeds (easy to turn up the speed or turn the mixer off), the beater problem is simply poor quality and I expected better from KitchenAid. I’ve always loved my KitchenAid 6-qt. mixer, so when I noticed this 9-Speed Hand Mixer, I didn’t hesitate to purchase it. I’m afraid I wouldn’t recommend it — for the same money or less, there are much better mixers available (read the excellent reviews for the Oster products).

great deal by .. Diana R. Hawkins (TN)
I haven’t used the mixer but two times since I purchased it but am completely satisfied. I can’t belief how quiet it is compared to my old one. It mixes thoroughly. I’m not used to the digital adjustments but it seems to work well. I would recommend this purchase to anyone looking for a new hand mixer.

Great mixer!! by .. P. Goleman (Pitkin, La)
This is really a great mixer!! I do a lot of baking & use a mixer a lot. I literally “wore” my last one out!! I like how this one starts up slow, so it doesn’t sling the ingredients all over the place. Also, it has plenty of power to get any job done. I also like the fact that the beaters are so easy to clean. I’ve never paid this much for a mixer before, but it has been worth every penny! I highly recommend this product!!!!!KitchenAid KHM9PWH 9-Speed Professional Hand Mixer, White

Great for Both Quality and Cost! by .. Cat Woman (Ephrata, PA USA)
This is the best hand mixer ever! I am very limited on counter and storage space in my kitchen, and this is perfect little appliance that can be stored just about anywhere. I had been using a Kitchen Aid hand mixer, but it was only a 5-speed. Just didn’t seem to have enough power for cookie dough, whipping potatoes, etc. Initially I had considered buying an Artisan Stand Mixer, but with the kind of cooking/baking that I do, a 9-speed hand mixer does the trick! Really didn’t need to invest in a stand mixer that would not only take up an acre of my kitchen counter, but would also cost a bundle! And with a $10.00 rebate, you cannot beat this mixer for both cost and quality!

Amazon.com Review

Celebrity chef Rachael Ray gets innovative with shaping for this large sauté pan, with effective and versatile results. Hard-anodized aluminum for durability, the pan heats evenly and quickly, while a nonstick interior helps with food release and cuts down on the fats necessary for cooking. The pan’s wide oval shape takes up minimal space when the stovetop is crowded, and the glass lid lets you watch over food without releasing heat or steam. The signature Rachael Ray orange handles have nonslip, heat-resistant silicone grips, and a helper handle on this pot makes draining and carrying much easier. With its 5-quart capacity and accommodating dimensions, the piece is great for everything from sautéing chicken breasts to pan-roasting asparagus. It is also safe in the oven to 400 degrees F, cleans up easily by hand, and comes with a limited lifetime warranty. –Emily Bedard

I make Pasta sauce, Cramilize onions, Fry chicken, anything you can think of. It is soooooo good I am getting another one. When it come to pots and pans Rachael Ray beats Martha Stewart hands down. Great Quailty for a great price. It is sooooo easy to clean. Try that with Martha Stewart people….

CorningWare French White 7-oz Ramekin, Set of 4, French White, Boxed

Amazon.com Review

Most of us have become masters of multitasking–answering phones, checking e-mail, and reading simultaneously, and Corningware follows suit with dishes designed for the microwave, oven, tabletop, dishwasher, and refrigerator. Corningware’s French White bakeware combines the functionality of classic designs with contemporary styling. This set of four 7-ounce ramekins is ideal for fruit dishes, puddings, or hors devoirs, allowing you to cook in the same dishes you serve with (as with all Corningware and other ceramic or glass bakeware, you’ll always need to use potholders when handling the dish). When you’re done, you can stick the leftovers in the fridge or the empty ramekins in the dishwasher. The set boasts an impressive 10-year warranty. –Ariel Meadow Stallings

Great addition to our office! by .. B. Johnson ()
We purchased one of these for our office about 6 months ago and had a standard one as well. However, after about 4 months we had more coffee drinkers loving and less mess - no more dripping. My staff love it and the coffee is great. Now we have two and they are used with great fondness. Linda Johnson

Mixed by .. Last Car (Arlington, VA)
I bought this coffee maker based on my percieved ease of use. My friend bought one last year. I wish I had watched him clean it up. I was trying to avoid cleaning a narrow neck carafe. What I like and don’t like…

Pros:

1. Makes good coffee

2. Easy to clean the coffee “bucket” carafe.

3. No glass or narrow neck carafe cleanup required.

4. Auto off

5. I like the way it looks.

Cons:

1. It uses about 25% more coffee, for the same amount of water in my old Braun auto drip. The Braun coffee basket is cone shaped and perhaps this concentrates the coffee?

2. Placement of the water level gauge, rear, right handside corner, limits counter choices.

3. The top lid is hard to clean. The heated hot water is fed through this lid and drips over the coffee basket. Coffee residue naturally builds up on this lid, as in other auto drip units. The lid uses a multi-hole pattern, like a flat shower head. The coffee residue builds up between the holes.

Do not buy by .. bethmac (Virginia)
We bought this coffee maker in June, 2006. I was so excited about the lack of a carafe and for several months, this coffee maker exceeded my expectations…until it quit working. Some days it worked, some days it didn’t. Some days it took 2 hours to start a brew, some days it never started.

I called Cuisinart support, who told me to use a vinegar/water solution because my problem was a clogged hole due to mineral build up. We went through a gallon of vinegar. It didn’t help.

They’ve not responded to me and we finally just went out and got a Mr. Coffee coffee maker for half the price because I can’t go without my coffee. Buyer beware, this model has major issues that Cuisinart won’t address.

Love it and no dripping pot to clean by .. Lynn (Boston)
I love it - coffee stays hot, no pot to drip onto the counter, easy to refill my cup, area to fill water is small but I had no problem with a regular measuring cup. Only issue is we can’t fit our travel mugs under the spout but we just dispense coffee into a pyrex first on the days we take the coffee with us. A 14oz disposable travel cup will fit. I’ve owned too many coffee makers and this one so far is a winner.

Water Water Everywhere by .. JamesOaksun (Saco, ME)
While this makes good coffee, it has Leaked From Day One. At first I thought I was just pouring in the water wrong. But, no. It leaks.

I thought about returning it but it would be too much of a hassle to box it up, drive to UPS, wait in line, drive home, etc. My time is worth something. It is very stylish too I think. If you don’t mind the water everywhere.

The only available solution by .. Pony Girl (Escondido, CA)
This 3-piece set is a lifesaver. We cook or make salad in the stainless bowls and then snap on the lids to take lunch to work. We looked in the stores and could only find 15+ piece sets. This small set is perfect for us.

Good basic set in great shape for over 20 years! by .. Gilda (Palm Beach Gardens, Florida United States)
I have read some of the reviews and wonder what ever happened to the quality Revere used to employ? What is the problem with the lids?

I’ve had this same set for over 20 years and they are still in great shape although I have lost a lid, and they are used often.

The only reason it doesn’t get my 5th star is that they didn’t have that rubber bottom the new Oxo brand bowls have. But other than that, there are no complaints.

There’s no beating Revere by .. Philip Schneider (Wichita, KS, USA)
Just as they have been almost forever, Revere continues to put out the basic, solid product.

Revere 3 pc. mixing bowl set with covers by .. Suzy Q (enchanted land)
I am very satisfied with the mixing bowls and like the added bonus of the covers. I like the rings that the bowls have on them. It is so much easier to hold the bowls when mixing ingredients.

These are great, old-school bowls by .. Amy N. Byrne (Los Angeles)
These are the best mixing bowls you can find. My Mom still has her original set - from her wedding gift in 1970. Long lasting, durable, just bought my set and look forward to 30 years of use.

gearbox is poorly made by .. G. Maxwell ()
mixer worked great for several years, then someone put bread dough in it. now the gearbox is completely shot: the plastic casing cracked, allowing the gears to misalign, ripping some of the teeth off of one of the gears and cracking one of the bushings. great mixer, just not for anything thicker than cookie dough.

Kitchenaid by .. Sallie ()
I love my mixer. It is a little loud but not enough to complain about. I have a 4.5 quart and love it but the professional one I have now is awsome.

FABULOUS Mixer! by .. Kim Boyko ()
Wow…my husband got me this for my birthday and I am just floored. The quality is outstanding and it will literally last a lifetime. I don’t think there isn’t anything this mixer can’t do. Highly recommend it for anyone who does a lot of cooking/baking.

Great for Making Bread by .. Mary Mixer (San Diego, Ca USA)
I was worried because some reviews talked of a part breaking when mixing bread, but further research showed that KitchenAid had fixed that problem. I have owned my KitchenAid for 8 months, made countless whole grain breads and I love it! Had a problem with the dough hook releasing, but called KA and they had me fix it with a drop of oil-and they were so nice. What a great company!

Super Quality by .. C. Ried ()
I am so pleased with this mixer. It is the third Kitchen Aide mixer I have had. I give my older ones to my children and but the next model up. They are so dependable and this one especially is exceptionally capable to handle bread making and large batches of muffins or grinding raw meat or grain. Just an excellent buy. A superior product. Kitchen Aid’s service and support in case you need it is excellent and speedy.

Great Buy! by .. B. Nelson (Pacific NW, USA)
This pot rack is such a great buy, we bought two. Since we had to hang the racks using toggle bolts (and you probably will, too, given the difficulty/luck involved in lining up with a stud in the exact place you wish to install it), we took the advice of a previous poster and replaced the silver chain with black and bought white swag hooks at HD (they don’t carry black ones) and sprayed them black. Total cost for the materials was $10 per rack and it looks much nicer. Couldn’t be more pleased with this product. Use of a vertical laser level will make installation a lot easier than trying to use the plumb bob recommended in the manual. It’s a shame the manufacturer doesn’t include a template; then you’d only have to find one hole.

Great pot holder for the money. by .. Gary L. Pannecouk (Surprise, AZ)
A really great product for the money and it arrived within days of ordering it. I think I would have prefered the hanging chains to be black instead of chrome but I can always changed them out later or even paint them. It was very easy to hang and came with enough hooks to hang all my stuff.

Great Value by .. D. Biggar (SD)
Saw a similar one in Williams-Sonoma for a couple hundred $. This was just as good and does exactly what it’s supposed to. Get’s my pots out of the cabinets and easily accessable.

Great Item!! by .. Victoria Hinojosa (Clearfield, UT)
I love this item. It was small enough to fit in my small apartment kitchen and yet it does the job perfectly. I have not had any problems with it holding all of my pots and pans. I would definitely recommend it to anyone!!!

well worth the money by .. martha smith (concord,ma)
I was looking for a pot rack for my very small kitchen. This one fits the bill. Well worth every penny. I’m so glad I purchased it.

Great Wok! by .. R. J. Bollard (Seattle, WA USA)
I own traditional, non stick and now this stainless steel wok. For high sustained heat over an electric range this stainless steel wok outshines all of the rest. Sits flat on the burner and the disk on the bottom spreads the heat quickly and evenly, cleanup was a snap, just followed the directions included with the pan. I highly recommened this pan

The wok I’m happy with by .. John (Pensacola, FL)
I’ve been using woks made of cast iron, aluminums, Teflon-coated materials etc. Learned about some of those materials can react with food and formulate chemical reactions, or the synthetic coating can break down sooner or later. Realized while the family was happily gobbling the foods down, also took along those chemical elements into our bodies. Then I found Cuisinart 14″ stainless steel wok when I shopped around for an idea wok. I’ve had this wok for over a month now. I’m practically impressed. It transfers heat very well, gives adequate heat to do crisp stir fry vegetable dishes. The 14″ diameter gives plenty of space to cook for 4 people. I especially like how easy it is to clean. I can scrub it as hard as I want to with soapy water, and don’t worry about take the synthetic coat off or the wok will become rusty later on.

Love it! by .. Alissa Segersten (Bellingham, WA United States)
This is an excellent wok for the price. It is large so you can really keep the food moving without it spilling out.

I appreciate the glass lid. At the end of stir-frying when you quickly add some liquid to finish the cooking by steaming you know when the food is done.

Overall, a great buy!

Unappealing Finish by .. P. Ng (USA)
The handle I believe is cast stainless steel and the casting finish quality is far from satisfactory. I had written to Amazon.com to enquire but did not get a response (already >2 weeks had past). The handle appears to be poorly finished post (on the underside which makes it less visible) casting process.

Thanks by .. Bruce T. Sieniawski ()
This product and all the Cuisinart products I have purchased are fantastic. They look great, cook great, are made well, what else could you ask for.

Product Description

This colorful, high-carbon stainless steel santoku knife has a high-tech resin handle, detailed with miniature cutouts that depict common food objects like carrots and mushrooms. As you might guess, this knife is intended for fruits and vegetables, helping to prevent any possible transfer of bacteria from one food group to another. To complete this set, other knives in this collection are sold separately. An innovative approach in cutlery, this santoku knife has a special fluorinated-resin green coating that won’t rub off when following these cleaning recommendations: handwash in warm, soapy water then completely dry by hand - never use a steel scouring brush or cleanser.

Amazon.com Review

Measuring 6-1/2 inches in length, the straight-edged blade of Komachi’s santoku knife comfortably chops, dices, and slices produce of any variety. Slice fresh pineapple and melons, shred cabbage, or julienne carrots for your favorite stir fry. The knife hides a whimsical, fish-shaped cutout beneath its handle.

This unique collection–by renowned blade manufacturer KAI in Seki City, Japan–offers practical kitchen cutlery in cheerful colors. Durable, high-carbon, stainless-steel blades featuring a fluorinated-resin coating offer hygienic food handling. The lightweight knife does not have a bolster but feels balanced thanks to the full tang. Clear, Ionomer-resin handles in coordinating hues are ergonomically designed and fit comfortably in hand. Made in Japan and measuring 11-1/4 by 2 by 3/4 inches overall, this vegetable knife is dishwasher-safe but hand washing is recommended. – Amy Arnold

Have Had My Komachi Veg. Knife for 3 Years by .. H. Bawcum (Albuquerque)
I have had my knife for 3 years, I have the pink meat knife that I love not quite as much and bought the purple knife today. I would love to purchase myself a $300 knife seriously, but this is by far the best knife I have ever had. It makes chopping and dicing veggies a breeze and I love it. And for $20 replace it, in 3 years it has dulled a bit, but never been sharpened. Fabulous.

Only works on some vegetables by .. J. Witt ()
I had high hopes for this knife since all my previous knives were cheap. However, it didn’t deliver. It is good for slicing things like potatoes or onions, but if a vegetable has a skin, such as a tomato or bell pepper, it does not cut through the skin very well. I ended up getting another knife, and I only use this one on occasion.

Komachi knives are simply THE BEST by .. Beatrix Potter (St. Louis, MO)
I cannot recommend these knives enough. My favorites are this veg knife and the tomato/cheese knife. These are infinitely better than the expensive knives sold at specialty stores. They stay sharper longer and are incredibly lightweight. The tomato knife will yield thinner, more exact slices than you ever thought possible.

Cookallthetime by .. Reader (Roswell, GA)
I’m actually just seeing what others think of a knife my dad bought me because we have a love of good knives and we love to cook. I have fallen in love with this knife because its precision is amazing. I can shave garlic, dice anything, with such accuracy that the work is really gone from the situation. I do sharpen it occassionally as I do with all my knives. I also do not have the complaint about speed that some other posters have — only because I find that I am not slowed down and I’m not doing things in great bulks. I used to cater and I feel like this knife is a must have for vegetables. I’ve had it a year, so I can attest to its durability–and I cook almost all meals in a week. Enjoy your purchase if you get it!

Just fine for the price by .. Ei Katsumata (San Francisco)
I bought this for my girlfriend because cyan is her favorite color, and it’s extremely lightweight and easy to handle. The blade is plenty sharp for most general uses, but I would only recommend this to casual cooks who want a cute, sharp knife at a reasonable price. If you’re serious about cooking, forget about this one.

I haven’t sharpened it yet, though I have honed it on a steel occassionally. The knife hasn’t seen a whole lot of use yet, so I’m not sure how it will stand up to heavy use.

The knife itself gets 2 stars, and the price adds 2 more.

The other knives in this series are cute and fun, but I haven’t tried any of them. The set as a whole seems like it might be a great way to encourage teenagers to take up cooking.

great buy by .. Chanchal K. Sinha (Bayonne, NJ, USA)
I bought this for personal use. It is a commodious tool for a comfortable ironing. Don’t think twice about its price because it is certainly worthwhile. Ergonomically designed, looks great, fits clothes properly.

the best by .. C. Shoemake (moses Lake WA USA)
excellent product. Much better than the cheap ironing boards you get at discount stores.

Wonderful Ironing Board! by .. J. Smith ()
I wish that I had purchased this nice ironing board years ago. It is sturdy, doesn’t wobble, well made and worth the purchase price. I purchased this ironing board from www.amazon.com and was so pleased with the efficiency and swiftness of the delivery. If you do a lot of ironing, I do recommend this product. It is nice, however, if you have a place where you can leave it up and not have to take it up and down. But a lighter weight ironing board is not going to perform like this one does. The surface is larger than some which makes ironing a garment a little quicker as you can cover a larger area at the time.

Rownta IB-6200 by .. Jason R. Bower ()
an excellant ironing board …. we never did much ironing .. now its such a breeze! highly recommended!

She’s Happy! by .. J. Gilmore ()
My wife asked me to find a replacement for our 20+ year old ironing board. I read reviews and purchased the Rowenta. She’s very pleased with it. I made the mistake of purchasing cover separately……..the ironing board comes with the nice cover/pad.
